My Approach
Therapy is often a challenging endeavor. As such, I aim to create a supportive environment while simultaneously encouraging the client to step outside of one's comfort zone in order to obtain therapy goals. I encourage an open dialogue throughout the process, such that the therapeutic relationship allows for feedback in both directions.
I utilize evidence based treatments in a flexible manner. The most common treatment models I pull from include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT).
I view psychotherapy as a problem-focused venture, aiming to help my clients develop the skills and supports needed to address presenting issues and get back to regular life without the need for ongoing therapy appointments. I also emphasize communication skills building alongside learning to manage specific mental health symptoms and clinical issues.
